Dublin office of the Irish Patents Office closes its doors!
June 2008
On Friday 6th June 2008, the Dublin office of the Irish Patents Office closed to the public.  With continuing pressure being put on the public service to reduce costs, following examination, the Controller of Patents, Trade Marks and Designs decided that the cost of the Dublin office did not justify the service it provided.

However, to accommodate the Dublin based patent and trade mark firms, the Dublin office will continue to accept post and applications which will be dated, time stamped and then forwarded to the main office in Kilkenny.  The public office and library will continue to operate in the Kilkenny office.
