Employment Associate

We are currently seeking to recruit an Employment Associate to join and become a key member of our highly regarded Employment team. This person will work within the Employment team but also closely with the Corporate and Commercial teams.

The Employment team has a truly diverse range of clients across various sectors. You will be working on some of the largest, most innovative clients in the country. The position will involve a broad range of responsibilities.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years PQE in all areas of employment law, both contentious and non-contentious, with public sector and private sector clients, gained in another legal practice and/or in-house. He or she should have strong organisational and interpersonal skills as well as an excellent work ethic, energy, enthusiasm and be highly motivated.

In addition to employment law experience, a keen interest in business development and leading file work will be an essential part of the role

Required Experience:

  • Experience in assisting employers with the full range of legal issues that may arise during the employment relationship, from recruitment to exit;
  • Advising on risk management and employment issues during corporate transactions and transfer of undertakings;
  • Experience before the Workplace Relations Commission, Labour Court and Civil Courts;
  • Experience of advising employers on day-to-day HR issues such as managing disciplinary processes, employment contracts, restrictive covenants, pension issues and statutory entitlements; and
  • Understanding of public sector specific employment law.

  • Excellent drafting skills;
  • An ability to generate new client relationships and maintain and expand existing client relationships;
  • Collaborating at all levels with an ability to communicate points clearly;
  • A calm and measured approach to problem solving;
  • A willingness to attend networking and marketing events, when required.
