Legal Executive - Debt Recovery & Enforcement

We are seeking a highly motivated Legal Executive specialising in enforcement and debt recovery to join our legal team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing a portfolio of cases, supporting solicitors, and ensuring efficient and compliant recovery of debts through both negotiated settlements and formal enforcement proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

The position will involve a broad range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Manage a caseload of debt recovery matters from initial demand through to enforcement.
  • Draft and review correspondence, pleadings, affidavits, and enforcement applications.
  • Liaise with clients, debtors, third-party agents (including sheriffs and debt collection agencies), and external counsel.
  • Prepare and manage court documentation for District, Circuit, and High Court proceedings.
  • Track deadlines and maintain accurate case management records.
  • Support solicitors in hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and ethical obligations (including Central Bank and Data Protection requirements).
  • Monitor enforcement outcomes and provide clear reporting to the business on progress and recovery rates.

Key Requirements & Competencies

  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a legal executive, paralegal, or similar role with a focus on debt recovery and enforcement in Ireland.
  • Strong working knowledge of Irish civil procedure and enforcement mechanisms (e.g. judgment mortgages, instalment orders, sheriff enforcement).
  • Experience in case management systems and legal documentation preparation.
  • Excellent drafting, organisational, and communication skills – both written and oral.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
  • High attention to detail and ability to communicate through referral systems.
  • Excellent IT and technical skills: MS Office (Outlook, Word & Excel) SharePoint, iManage.
