Credit Controller

We are currently seeking to recruit a Credit Controller to join our busy Business Support Accounts Team. This is a great opportunity to work in a progressive professional organisation. 

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Finance & Administration, and the position will involve a broad range of responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Manage Credit Control ledger for assigned client accounts
  • Manage preparation and distribution of monthly Statements
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly reports
  • Communicate in a timely and professional manner with both partners/ fee earners and external clients to secure receipt of payment
  • Address customer queries and resolve invoice queries
  • Maintenance of contact databases and records for use by the Credit Control and Legal teams
  • Maintain and record contacts with clients regarding their account.
  • Daily Cash Application and credit card payments
  • Assist the credit control and accounts team in any special ad hoc projects.
  • Identify debtors for Legal Debt recovery in accordance with firm's credit policy

Key Requirements:

  • 2-3 years' professional services experience working within Credit Control/Accounts Receivable environment desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence to liaise with customers and colleagues
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and engage fully with cross functional teams
  • Deadline focused with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Strong English, spoken and written

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Providing a professional and efficient credit control cash collections at all times
  • Strong MS Word and Excel experience plus general IT skills essential
  • Experience using MS Teams meetings
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
  • Committed and proactive self-starter
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and dedicated
  • Organised with good follow through
  • Flexible team player
  • Adaptable, positive, and helpful
  • Good time management

The Candidate:

  • Ideal candidate will have strong numerical organisational and interpersonal skills as well as a disciplined ability to document work, prioritise own tasks and manage time effectively
  • Dynamic hard worker with the right attitude and looking for a challenge
  • May suit someone who has just started out in their professional career in credit control or someone who is considering a career in this area.
