Wednesday, 7 January 2026: Beauchamps are pleased to announce the promotion of Jeanie Kelly to Partner in our Projects, Infrastructure & Energy group, specialising in Planning & Environment law. This promotion reflects our firm’s ongoing strategic growth and reinforces our position as a leader in Ireland's legal landscape. It follows a year of exceptional progress, highlighted by eight lateral partner hires in 2025, demonstrating our commitment to expanding expertise and meeting client growing needs.
Having joined the firm in January 2025, Jeanie has quickly distinguished herself as a leading practitioner in the field, bringing over seven years of specialised experience advising both public and private sector clients on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious planning and environmental matters. Her work spans numerous sectors, including renewable energy, utilities, telecoms, housing, natural resources, forestry, and agriculture. Jeanie has demonstrated exceptional skill in guiding clients through all stages of major infrastructure projects, from strategic planning to litigation. Her expertise includes oral hearings, commercial litigation, planning and environmental judicial reviews, injunctions, and climate litigation.
Jeanie has played an integral role in advising on some of the most significant projects in Ireland. Notably, she has advised Irish Water on the Arklow Waste Water Treatment Plant Project, one of the country’s largest infrastructure developments. She has also supported National Broadband Ireland on the rollout of the National Broadband Plan, which aims to bring high-speed broadband to businesses, schools, and over 540,000 homes across the country. Additionally, Jeanie has been a key advisor to Glanbia on the €140 million expansion of its cheese factory in Kilkenny, successfully defending a judicial review challenge before the Supreme Court.
Commenting on the appointment, Stuart Conaty, Partner & Head of Planning & Environment said, “Jeanie’s promotion is a recognition of her outstanding contributions to the firm and our clients. In just one year, she has demonstrated exceptional ability to resolve complex legal matters, delivering targeted, commercially focused solutions for our clients. Her appointment is a reflection of our continued investment in the growth of our team and the expertise required to meet the increasing demand for sophisticated planning and environmental law services.”
"This promotion is part of our broader commitment to fostering talent and supporting the next generation of legal professionals. With Jeanie’s promotion to Partner, we are well-positioned to continue helping clients navigate evolving regulatory landscapes and deliver ambitious projects that contribute to Ireland’s future growth and development."
