Each year, the Irish public sector procures contracts with a total value of €12 - €15 billion.
According to the National Development Plan (updated in July 2025), the Irish Government is committed to unprecedented levels of investment - to secure Ireland's future, unlock housing, upgrade water and energy infrastructure, deliver more roads and provide better public transport. The Government plans to spend €275 billion on infrastructure between 2026 and 2035, through Exchequer and non-Exchequer funding. This will be across a variety of sectors including energy, water, housing, health, education, technology and transport.
This level of investment promises to be transformative for our country. It will also present significant opportunities for domestic and international companies (large and small) who can deliver the products, services and works necessary to meet the public sector's ambition.
